Korean Culture Festival

Op zaterdag 9 juli vindt in Amsterdam de 1e editie van het Korean Culture Festival in Nederland plaats.

Naast aandacht voor de Koreaanse cultuur zijn er diverse stands aanwezig met onder meer Koreaans voedsel en zijn er workshops Poomsae door Europees kampioen Joel van der Weide en workshops Koreaanse tekenkunst. Voor de taekwondo-ka’s zal met name het spectaculaire optreden van het Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstratieteam een unieke gelegenheid zijn om deze  absolute topatleten in actie te zien.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Netherlands is hosting a Korean Culture Festival at Transformatorhuis in Westerpark Amsterdam on Saturday, July 9, 2022, with exciting performances, markets, and workshops.

Based on the growing interest in Korean culture, the Embassy is hosting the first comprehensive Korean culture event in the Netherlands. During the performance session from 17:00, you will be able to watch spectacular performances by the KUKKIWON Taekwondo Team, and a traditional performance group from Korea National University of Arts.

The charm of K-Pop can be felt in the preliminary round of the K-Pop World Festival, where Dutch K-Pop fans can directly compete against each other with their singing and dancing skills. The winner gets the opportunity to represent the Netherlands during the finals to be held in Korea in November.

At the market, which will be held throughout the whole day, you can find Korean products such as Korean food, Korean cosmetics, and K-Pop items. Next to the market, there will be a Taekwondo workshop by European champion, Joel van der Weide, and a traditional Korean painting workshop by Studio K&Y.

Yeondoo Jeong, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Netherlands, wishes that through this event, visitors will be able to experience not only the charms of traditional Korean culture but also modern pop culture.
